For Every Man Logo
FOR EVERY MAN is the big umbrella of the SFGMCI that brings together men from every corner of gay San Francisco to celebrate and share in the cultural and creative diversity of our community. Our grass roots community-based social groups bring together gay men to meet people, develop new expanding social networks, enjoy other men’s company, establish a feeling of connectedness, and re-establish San Francisco as a city within which gay men are enjoying themselves in a spirit of acceptance, diversity and caring.

WILDE CHATS
Wilde Chats is a loosely structured community-driven group get together every other Saturday morning to discuss specific issues affecting us as gay men and our gay community. The group is lead following a "Socratic" model; rather than talk about solutions and answers to problems, the idea is to expand on the days topic by analyzing it and breaking it up into other questions. The discussions typically focus on the hidden/unspoken assumptions, generalities and concepts that we as gay men make, and the differences that our various points of reference imply. Wilde Chats are currently taking place at the times and locations listed below.

COMMUNITY FORUMS
One of the goals of the SFGMCI is to create activities that foster new healthy forms of social interaction within which gay men who need or want to can better establish connectedness with other gay men in a spirit of togetherness, acceptance and diversity. Once a month the SFGMCI hosts a community forum in which we explore topics relevant to the well-being of the gay men of San Francisco. The topics for all of our forums have been suggested by men in the community; previous community forums have looked at issues of racism in the gay community, gay men’s rights and responsibilities, body image, ageism, inter-racial and intergenerational relationships, the role of spiritualism in our lives as gay men, sexual health, and our community’s need to celebrate our gay sense of fun and frivolity. You can be a part of these forums by suggesting relevant topics and helping us organize future forums. You can find out about upcoming events by checking out our calendar of events.

SFGMCI activities and events geared towards anyone and everyone

SPEAKERS GUILD
The purpose of the Speakers Guild is to:
Introduce the SFGMCI and our mission to other interested groups.
Spark a broad dialog with different community groups about the state of the gay men’s community and ask for their insights and perspectives on how we all can work together to strengthen it.
Spark a discussion throughout the wider community about our broader community needs.
Develop a larger group of men who will join the SFGMCI in making our San Francisco gay men’s commuity better, friendlier and healthier community.

Bringing the Spark into our Neighborhoods
SFGMCI has an ongoing project to help make our neighborhoods more friendly. The ‘Say Hi to a Gay Guy’ project is a regular event where our growing rank of community partners visit different neighborhoods to interact with other members of the community that they ordinarily would not interact with as they are out-and-about. The men from SFGMCI and anyone else who wants to join in on the fun, will say ‘hi’ to random men on the street with the objective of making our gay community more outgoing, friendly and caring. We hope that everyone will help us energize our community!

Welcome to San Francisco Socials
SFGMCI hosts quarterly social gatherings to bring together men new to San Francisco with men who have been here for a long time and know the in’s and out’s of living in San Francisco.

Sunday Suppers
The family table is the place to gather, to share, to learn, to grow, to exchange, and most especially to strengthen and renew. There is no reason we can not have a family table in the gay community to celebrate our own cultures and create our own "families. Sunday Suppers - gay men congregating over food. Sunday suppers is a new way for gay men of all generations to come together to form new familial connections and pass along our oral traditions. In 2030, who wouldn’t love to be able to tell someone who hasn't even been born today about the time they first met their gay uncle who was one of the drag queens throwing bricks at Stonewall.

Gay Cultural Day
A new set of ongoing events bringing together people from every corner of gay San Francisco to celebrate and share in the cultural and creative diversity of our community. These events will draw gay men by having well known entertainers, celebrities, speakers, politicians, and will promote the exchange and dissemination of pertinent health and prevention information by having presentation and round table discussions on health related topics. These events will also serve to link members of the community to the array of available services by having agency partners on hand to promote their services, answer questions and recruit new clients.
